All our products undergo strict quality control. A word of warning about colour balance. We do everything possible to ensure that the images on TINT-ART are as closely matched to the printed image as possible. Scanners, digital cameras and computer monitors use red, green and blue (RGB) light to display colour. Commercial printing presses print with cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK) ink, called process printing, instead of RGB light, and therefore produce a different range of colour. Monitor types vary in how well they can display colour and graphics. Generally, CRT monitors have the best colour and resolution; flat and LCD monitors can have poorer colour quality and limited resolution. Individual monitor settings such as brightness, contrast, frequency, temperature, will also affect your colour accuracy. What all this boils down to is that images on your monitor will always look somewhat different than the final printed piece. You can improve the colour accuracy of your monitor through a process called calibration.
The papers, dyes, chemicals and other materials used in our materials and manufacturing processes may, like other dyes, show trivial changes over time. These changes may be different from one production batch to another. Such discrepancies in product characteristics shall not form sufficient basis for defect.
In the UK the Fine Art Guild ensures the quality and verification of limited edition prints by employing a number of strictly administered regulations for all processes and aspects related to them. TINT-ART respects the binding agreement of Limited Edition in accordance with Governing Law and purchases will be deemed to have occurred in the United Kingdom.
A limited edition is normally hand signed and numbered by the artist, typically in pencil, in the form 14/25. The first number is the number of the print itself. The second number is the number of overall prints the artist will print of that image. The lower the second number is, the more valuable and collectible the limited editions are likely to be, within whatever their price range is. The early prints in an edition are the most desirable. Some editions are staggered, the first few will cost less in order for the artist to recoup their costs and encourage early sales. There can be several levels to an edition and they will be shown at the point of sale.
A small number of "artists' proofs" may also be produced while testing prints, signed and with "AP", "proof", etc. Prints that are given to someone or are for some reason unsuitable for sale are marked "H. C." or "H/C", meaning "hors de commerce", not for sale. TINT Editions tend not to number more than 25 meaning the edition is limited so that the number produced from the same exposure does not exceed 25. Each one is sent with a stamped and embossed Certificate of Authenticity showing it's corresponding edition number.
